Short answer. Outsourced accounting means a firm keeps your books, prepares management and statutory reports and supports your tax filings, instead of you employing a full finance team. A typical service includes monthly bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, financial statements and tax support, with options for payroll, SST, e-invoice and advisory work.
Axecta provides outsourced accounting and bookkeeping for companies across Malaysia. Talk to our team.

What outsourced accounting means
You send your documents and bank data to an accounting firm. The firm records the transactions, reconciles the accounts, prepares reports and handles filings. You keep control of decisions and approvals, but you avoid hiring, training and covering for a finance employee.
Core services
- Bookkeeping. Recording sales, purchases, receipts and payments.
- Bank and account reconciliations. Making sure the books match bank statements and supplier and customer balances.
- Management reports. Monthly profit and loss, balance sheet and cash position.
- Financial statements. Year-end statements in the format required for SSM and LHDN.
- Tax support. Tax computation, CP204 and Form C. See corporate income tax.
- Audit support. Preparing schedules for the auditor.
Optional services
Need this done for you? Axecta’s outsourced accounting and bookkeeping team can handle this for your company. See the outsourced accounting and bookkeeping service.
- Payroll processing and statutory contributions. See outsourced payroll services.
- SST registration and returns.
- E-invoice readiness and reconciliation. See the SME e-invoice guide.
- Budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow planning.
- Part-time finance manager or CFO-level advice.
- Company secretarial services.
How the monthly workflow runs
- You send documents and bank access by an agreed cut-off date.
- The accounting team records and codes transactions.
- They reconcile bank, debtors and creditors.
- They raise queries about missing or unclear items.
- They issue the monthly report and discuss it with you.
- Tax and statutory items are handled on their calendar.
What you still do yourself
- Provide complete documents on time.
- Approve payments and key decisions.
- Answer queries about transactions.
- Review the monthly report.
- Tell the firm about new contracts, staff or financing.
How to choose a provider
- Check what is included, in writing.
- Ask who does the work and who reviews it.
- Ask about software, security and data access.
- Check the firm’s experience with your industry and size.
- Ask for sample reports.
- Check how they handle tax queries and audits.
- Look for a team that can also handle secretarial and payroll if you need it.
How Axecta works with clients
Axecta is a full-suite accounting, company secretarial and consulting firm serving SMEs to MNCs from our Kuala Lumpur base with an office in Subang Jaya. We agree the scope and calendar with you at the start, set up the document flow and then deliver a monthly report and the statutory filings. See what to send your accountant each month.
How outsourced accounting connects to your statutory filings
Your books feed three filings. The financial statements are lodged with SSM through MBRS in XBRL format, the tax return (Form C) goes to LHDN within 7 months after the close of the accounting period (LHDN), and the tax estimate (CP204) is submitted before each basis period (LHDN CP204). A good outsourced accounting service is organised around those outputs, not just around data entry.
A sample monthly calendar
| Day | Task |
|---|---|
| By the 5th | Client sends documents and bank statements |
| By the 10th | Bookkeeping complete, queries raised |
| By the 15th | Queries answered; payroll and tax payments due items checked |
| By the 20th | Management report issued |
| Quarterly | Review against the tax estimate and budget |
| Year-end | Adjustments, financial statements, tax computation |
Treat these dates as a template. Agree the real ones in your engagement letter. CP204 instalments fall due on the 15th of each month, so they belong in this calendar (LHDN).
What a first-month onboarding should cover
- Get access to bank accounts, tax portals and prior-year files.
- Review opening balances and unfiled periods.
- Set up the chart of accounts and coding rules.
- Agree the document flow, cut-off and report formats.
- List regulatory dates for the company.
- Run a first month and review together.
